MoVE: the practical coffee table
MoVE was born out of a requirement at home for a coffee table that was contemporary looking, had discrete storage, and that could easily be moved. We scoured the market, but couldn’t find one, and so we set about designing our own. Welcome to MoVE - the practical coffee table.
We like to MoVE it, MoVE it
Starting from the ground-up, we opted for low-friction Italian designer castors that appear to be gravity-defying with their off-centre stem and hollow wheels. In fact, we liked the castors so much, we chose to incorporate them in our logo. The castors (in YOUR choice of four colours) allow the table to be easily MoVEd, giving you the flexibility to best accommodate everyones’ needs, wherever they choose to sit.
It’s time to declutter
We wanted to incorporate concealed storage for hiding away sundry items such as remote controls, coasters, etc. We chose a quality drawer box with a soft-close mechanism and optional organiser from Blum, and then designed the 19mm carcass in a gloss white finish to discreetly house it. The net result is a stunning, ultra-contemporary looking table body.
Cushion the blow
When something MoVEs, there’s always a chance of an accidental impact. To help protect against this, we added a silicone bumper around the table’s periphery. We meticulously sourced the best bumper profile from 859 different options, and then had them made in four harmonious colours for YOU to choose from.
To top it all off
Brushed stainless steel supports not only create the illusion of a floating glass top, but also provide a dust free display area for books, magazines, etc. We chose Pilkington’s Optiwhite™ 8mm glass for a near colourless architectural appearance. This can be shot-blasted with any motif, e.g. chessboard, house name / number, company logo etc. which is then coated with Ritec’s ClearShield Eco-System® for easy cleaning.
NB: All glass is toughened and polished for safety reasons.
